DCC Product Spotlight of The Week – Old School Helmets

Monday, April 30, 2012 2:58:43 PM UTC

If you’re looking for a new helmet to add to your collection you should take a look at these “Old School Helmets.” Dime City Cycles has partnered with Josh Scott (Old School Helmets) to create limited series helmet designs inspired by the speed chasing gritty lifestyle that so well describes Dime City Cycles and our customers.  Currently, we have three designs available, of which, we will only produce 50 (and 15 in a DCC specific design) helmets of each.

The Triumph Ton-Up, Do The Ton & 59 Club in black and antique white and Do The Ton & 59 Club in white and black. [Click Here] to go right to the boutique section for more photos and details on each specific design.

Our idea with these limited edition and numbered lids was to take one of the best and safest helmets on the market, the Bell Custom 500 series, combine them with imagery conjured up by Herm and Jason and have a skilled young artisan stroke his brush of genius, creating a helmet that pays homage to brands, ideals and history that makes Cafe Racers and their culture so unique.

Each helmet is carefully crafted and inspected at Bell’s facility and then leaves for Old School Helmets HQ where Josh Scott then preps and hand-paints each one individually.  Every helmet receives a number on the nape of the neck area along with a Mercury Dime that Herm or Jason personally find, pick and affix to the helmet prior to it’s leaving Dime City to it’s final appreciator.

Whether you’re looking for a collectors piece to put on your shelf or something to wear every day, a lid from the Dime City Limited Edition line of Old School Helmets is a good investment that’ll look great on a shelf or on your head while you blaze past your friends at 100+ MPH!

Remember, only 50 of each series will be made and the artwork will be locked in the DCC vault, don’t miss out on your opportunity to snag one of these gems!

After receiving literally hundreds of emails when our stock was depleted of the original Leather Wrapped Cafe Racer seat we were importing from Japan, we decided there was only one thing to do given the supplier stopped exporting to the USA. Re-make our own version of the seat here at Dime City!

That’s right folks, the leather wrapped Cafe Racer seat is back in stock and ready to ship!

Fitted above and shown on a CB350F, the leather wrapped “Cafe” seat from Dime City Cycles is 100% universal and can be mounted to just about any bike. Customers have fitted them to everything from Sportsters to BMW air-heads and everything else in between.  The universal brackets on the underside and two 6mm mounting holes make for a super easy install that simply requires a bracket between the frame rails and two tabs on the rear of your frame.

And if that wasn’t enough, given the shape and style of the seat it lends itself to a sleek timeless Cafe Racer look on any machine. Shown above on a semi-stocker or below on a full-on custom like Loaded Gun’s Triton Cafe Racer, you can see it fits the bill perfectly! The taper in the rear allows for a stock fender to simply “flow” underneath it, while on those machines with a more agressive stance, it opens up the rear and screams “Take me to THE TON baby!”

And did we tell you the best part? They’re about $40 less expensive than the original! Thanks to resourceful-ness on Herm’s part we were able to drop the retail price considerably. That’s right, instead of pocketing more cash for Pabst and new rubber for our bikes, we’re passing it on to you for yours. How awesome is that?

So, what are you waiting for? Follow this link by [CLICKING HERE] and order yours today, you know your bike is begging for one!

DCC Product-pic of The Week – Custom British Fender Plates

Monday, October 3, 2011 3:12:31 PM UTC

On our recent trip to London we visited one of the the oldest supplier of license plates to the UK.  And because Dime City Cycles is all about bringing that classic and iconic Cafe flair to the US for you to mix and meld with your custom vintage speed machine, we setup as a US distributor and are now offering made to order custom plates. How RAD is that?

Stamped not too far from the Ace Cafe, these license plates are manufactured the same way there were back in the day when ton-up boys rules the streets of London. Aluminum is cut into 2 or 3 unique shapes that all mount easily on top of your front fender and is then stamped with a custom phrase of a given amount of characters depending on the plate size.

What else could you possibly add to your custom cafe racer that’s as cool as this aside from maybe a kettle and camp stove?

Pick a catchy phrase like “TON UP” “2FAST4U” or even replicate your actual locally registered plate number for something a bit more cohesive. Not a problem!  Just follow the weblink below and you can pickup style and verbiage. It get’s stamped in the land of fish n chips and things good-moto and get’s posted right to us and then out the door to you.

How cool is that?

After watching the “Kenny Powers, New KSWISS CEO” video on Youtube, we thought there was only one person who could rightfully name the new Dime City Mercury trucker hat. That’s right, Kenny.

After receiving the hat and reviewing it Kenny promptly sent us an email in 172 point font with all bold letters that just read “MOTHER-TRUCKER!” So there you have it, the new Dime City Mother-trucker Hat, GET SOME!

Fashioned with soul like everything else that’s born in the city, we knew we needed a trucker hat to represent our brand on the noggins of all our super cool customers, but we also knew that we didn’t want the same white foam screen printed hat everyone else was selling for $20.

So after 4 months of R&D, 27 sample hats and Herm going crazy from Jason asking him how “this sample looked” we came up with what you see here.

Built from high quality flexible yet stiff fabric in the front and classic trucker mesh in the back, we double stitched all the seams and laid them in red. Prior to sewing the intricate pieces together though, we emblazon the Mercury logo right on the front. Off center just a tad, just like you.

We then handcast our own version of the Mercury Dime to tie it all together instead of one of those childish little cloth buttons. Oh and the underside is polished smooth so it doesn’t bother your head either. Nice, right?

Moving to the back we placed a simple torn swatch of red fabric with the words “Ride Fast Live Well” permanently impregnated in black. Just like the desire of speed in the fabric of men.

Flipping it over you’ll notice our moniker, Nil Satis Nisi Optimum running through and through on the insides of the seams. We believe it and so should, Nothing But The Best Is Good Enough.

And for those of you who rock trucker caps beneath your 3/4 lids there’s a little something extra in the form of an excerpt of Mercury for all to see when you’re barreling down the lanes on your vintage speed machines.

Throw in a little wear on the brim and the cost of about a case of beer and bam, you got yourself a Mother-trucker. Why not support the cause and grab yours today by [clicking here] they’re as much as that cheap foam brill screen printed had you’ve been wearing all riding season, it’s time for something new, Ace.

In a world where everything seems be served up via the interweb to our computers, iPhones and other digital gadgets it’s wonder it took this long for someone in the hotrod/music/motorcycle culture segments to come up with a quality digital rag we could all put  our dirty wrench turning fingers on. Via our keyboards, that is.

Truth-be-told, Ralph Miller from Rusty Knuckles and Trent Reker of bikerMetric saw the need for this some time ago and as the third step in their plan towards world domination, have invested more man hours than it takes to put a monkey on mars into RUSTYMETRIC, the first high-quality digital download magazine WE would actually read.

With coverage on everything from Falcon Motorcycles, to the latest in greatest grass-roots music, twisted literary prose from Trent Reker and everything else in between, there is nothing you can spend a buck on and get more out of than RUSTYMETRIC. Not even South of the Border fellas, trust us. But don’t take our word for it, shell out a buck and figure it out for yourself.
