The boys at British Customs have designed an aluminum battery box (saves weight!) that allows you to ditch the factory air box quicker than a BSA Single on the North Circular Road, while maintaining all necessary mounting points for the relays, fuse box and starter solenoid.
It works on both carbureted and EFI models and provides not only a huge boost in performance, but that awesome "Whoosh!" sound every time you hit the throttle.
This magical box of TON-UP speed chasing love houses the battery, ECU, ECU spacer, starter solenoid, fuse box and relays all the while allowing the stock side covers to be fitted for a clean factory look.
It's constructed from aluminum and all including mounting hardware is machined from stainless steel too. These guys got it all covered!
Hot damn, hook it up!
Not so sure about this bit of kit
Just got really lucky to pick up one of the last few of these off the kind folks at DCC.
Installing this bit of kit was pretty straightforward except one of the slots to slide on one of the electrical parts was larger than the hole in the rubber holder. Some DIY ingenuity took care of that. The painful part is getting the rear wheel back on after removing the stock airbox.
Post-op: I've had to pull the cone air filters off since the local Triumph guru warned against it. Claims apparently despite the map the engine runs lean enough to pack up the ECU eventually. Being a n00b I've had to heed to his advice for now. Ended up going back to stock airbox but replaced stock air filter with a K&N and used the breather filter from this kit still. I'm aware of the TTP map applicable to the BC performance kit but until the $s are replenished this arrangement will do.
This was an easy install. Product is very well made and the fit and finish is showroom quality. The install was easier then expected. Took me less then an hour, minus the remap. The sound is awesome and the power increase is noticeable.
