If you've invested the money in an Antigravity battery you should most definitely checkout their chargers. While some people will swear this is the old "snake-oil" pitch of a custom charger that really isn't needed, the reality is, this isn't going to bite you and you could damage your precious AG battery if you charge it via normal means. So read on, Ace...
Question - "Can I charge my AG battery with a regular charger?"
Yes, you can actually charge off a Lead/Acid Charger, but we suggest you DO NOT. The problem is the lead acid “smart-chargers” tend to read the lithium batteries wrong and go into “desulfinate mode” or ‘quick charge” mode which can charge above 15v, this will damage your Antigravity Battery. Now, not all lead acid battery chargers do this but some do so for these reasons we cannot recommend using a Lead/Acid battery charger, period.
In an emergency you can charge off a normal lead/acid charger for 15 minutes MAXIMUM, or even your running car for 15 minutes MAXIMUM. Again, this is worst case scenario the recomended charging method is to use the actual Anti-Gravity branded chargers.
Question No. 2 - "Can I use a trickle charger to charge my Antigravity battery?"
No, do NOT use a trickle charger! Trickle chargers damage Lithium batteries. The benefit of AG batteries is they are a no maintenance battery and can hold their charge for up to a year. So unless your bike has a “parasitic” drain, or you have a “total-loss” system your battery will not need charged often unless a long lay off or other issue has occurred. If you plan to not ride for a couple months it would be best to just disconnect the battery.
Put your mind at rest fellow Speed Freak, and welcome this little number, the 4-AMP Antigravity battery charger which is perfect for all Antigravity 4 and 8 cell battery packs. It can be used with 100v (USA) or 220v (Foreign) supply which is great for those of you across the pond. Just note that it's your responsibility to modify the plug end to fit your wall outlet and Antigravity and Dime City Cycles are NOT liable if you burn your house down as a result.
