Description

You didn'€™t tell the boss as you slipped out the back door at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. After dropping off the dog at your girlfriend's you hustled back to your apartment, grabbed your pudding€™ bowl, goggles and jacket, and headed down to the garage. Taking the old sheet off, you paused just long enough while tightening your bedroll to admire the deep black tank and chrome Norton peashooters…and then you fire her up.

Leaving the city quickly on an expressway full of caged fools, you soon find yourself one hour down the road and taking the exit which you know leads to nirvana. A small town comes and goes, and then you make that last turn onto your favorite winding country road. Glancing briefly at your bar end mirror, you mentally say "€˜goodbye"€™ to the cubicle you left behind and you roll on the gas, listening to your beloved sohc Honda echo through the hills.

VERY GOOD PRODUCT AND GOOD LOOKING

I had them for 3 years now and still love them. It's one of the first thing people see when they look at my bike. They changed color because of the sun in a gold finish but they are even better looking now. You have to put lock tight glue and check some times if it is still tight. I lost one yesterday but orthering new ones today without questionning.

Very good product and cheap price !

Fits Great on an FZ8 with a slight Mod

Love love love the look of this mirror. My FZ8 has pressed in threaded bushings for Yamaha's factory bar-end weights. everything mated up fine once I took the cutoff wheel to the post that normally would go *inside* a hollow tube. I took the calipers to check the depth of that post vs. where the bolt face lands. ~3mm of material left for bolt to pull against if you cut the post off.

Awesome

I've bought these in the past for rebuilds and fell in love with them. Adjustment goes pretty easy. I put one of my new FZ8, only had to cut a small portion of the post off to have it snug up tight. FZ8 has threaded bushings in the handlebars for factory installed bar-end weights. Pulled the weight off and put the mirror in. Great look, not blocky or bulky like some of the others.

Almost Perfect

As bar end's go, these have the best look and by far best price. No curse words invented during install on my Bonnie, but save yourself the heartache and buy the silver ones -black coating already flaking off.

Great mirror

This is a great looking mirror. It works well once you get it adjusted, which as stated above takes some effort. Locktite is MUST. I forgot to and it come flying of at about 60mph which was no good. Expected to go back and find it destroyed and not usable. It had one nice dent and a small crack in the mirror and is still usable. This thing is bomb proof and will be getting put on any of Cafe bike I own.

Great product. high quality for a not so high price

I have used these on my last four cafe builds. This is the only bar ends I will use. Make sure you use loktite on all bolts; I learned the hard way. Now I get them set up for the primary rider mark the spots with chalk then loosen bolts and add loktite.

Tough to install

Really like the look, but agree with others that they are a bit tough for a newbie to install. Took me several times to get it done, hope they stay!

Cool mirror.

If you're running factory Thruxton clip-ons with the filled ends you can easily grind off the insert portion of these mirrors and bolt directly with an M5 bolt, or tap the threads to match the supplied bolt.

Solid mirror. The small size is easily dealt with by the convex glass. Takes a little getting used to but it's pretty effective. I'm running a single mirror on my left and I can see all but a tiny blind spot off my right shoulder, which is no big deal because I don't shift lanes without a shoulder check anyway. Most of that is in my peripheral vision.

Great.

Once you get all the adjustments done and add loc-tite, these mirrors are greatness.

Sturdy as hell. Subtle as hell.

COOL Cafe Racer Look

I put the mirror on a scooter with a BMX Cruiser handlebar. Initially was hard to fit because it would not grip the inside of the bar, but once it did it was easy going. Put some loctite and it has not moved once. I will be buying another for the right side soon. Looks good and works great - better than the ugly stock mirors.

2012 Bonneville choice mirror

Love these mirrors. Actually wrecked my bike last week. Anodized is scratched to hell, but it held up and the mirror still functions. I'll be replacing it with a new one asap.

Great product

These mirrors are terrifc. They are high quality in all aspects, they also look good. The image is clear and steady, wide enough so they don't require a lot of fiddling to adjust. The dual mounting option is very clever.
Oh yes, don't forget the loc-tight!!!

Rock solid

Once installed they are amazingly solid. No vibration . I put them on a 1975 CB500T. Make sure the washer is on first, then the two spacers. Screw the bolt in until the sleeves will barely fit into the bar end. You may even tap it in with a soft rubber mallet. Once in, tighten the Allen screw. Be sure the adjustment screw for the mirror is where you want it before tightening. I think you'll be very pleased. RWP

Looked great, but finish failing.

I'm very pleased with the look and functionality of my mirrors, and the other reviews are accurate for installation and maintenance. I'm a little disappointed that the stalk on one mirror's finish seems to be failing and fading to a brownish colour after 2 months of use. For me, the worked in look does fine on my bike, but others may want to take heed.

Some pros, some cons

As the previous reviews say, the expansion bolt takes a bit of finesse to install, and I'd like to again reiterate the use of LOCTITE! I lost an adjustment screw only seconds after I realised the mirror was loose. The electroplating is failing on one of my mirrors, which is a little disappointing. I'm not a clean freak, so it doesn't bother me much, but it's been on the bike for 2 months, and is no longer black at all. Other than that, they provide great looks, and great visibility.

Sweet

Just installed these on my bike and they look great. A little on the difficult side to in stall for someone who doesn't have any mechanical experience. But the mirrors are well worth the money definatly pre tighten the inserts prior to slipping them in to the bars also I used lock tight like the other reviews said and they are still on lol. Two thumbs up

top notch

Excellent mirrors. Small diameter, but the convex surface gives a large viewing area -- especially good for blind spots. It means objects are closer than they appear, though one quickly becomes used to it.

With two expansion sleeves they can still rotate within the handlebar unless you get them almost fully expanded to fit your bar first (as the description indicates). A slight tap in, a bit more of a turn on the allen bolt and then they're tight. Loc-tite is a must given the two external adjusting bolts.

Great Bar End Mirror

The packaging that theses mirrors came in was very high quality. It properly protected them from the evil that is shipping. Once opened I could tell that these were of extremely high quality. It doesn't show it in the picture but the mirrors can be placed on the ends of the mounts also. The only difficulty I had installing the mirrors came when it was time to fully tighten the bar end and the hole for the mirror stalk would shift. This isn't a real problem as it is inherent of the design and I was fully aware it would happen. I would suggest getting a friend to help you with adjustments while you sit on the bike to make the fitting process go faster. Use lock tight lots and lots of lock tight. The mirrors are super bright with great viewing angles.

Fantastic Mirrors

I installed these simply because they look gorgeous, I had one bar end on the left and a mirror seated in the brake perch on the right. It was a bit of a pain to install, though I got it in nice and tight eventually. I recently had a spill on my bike, where I skidded on the left side mostly and somehow this little mirror was still snugly on my bar, tight enough for me to ride it home. I will be buying a second one, since the first is scratched to hell, but I am more than pleased with the quality and look of the mirror. Thanks DCC!

Oh Yeah!

These mirrors provide excellent visibility without having to lean out of the way! Yeah!
They were easy to install (I have Renthal handlebars with a smaller internal diameter so I had to tap out the outer sleeve and use only the inner, but they fit snug as a bug in a rug. It snugged right up, I put a bit of Loctite on the Allen bolts and rode off!

Great reflection but make sure they are on tight.

I'm back to buy some more as I screwed up installing one and the other flew off and narrowly missed a kangaroo.

If you notice they are getting loose, stop immediately and tighten them as it rattled loose within minutes. This time, I'll put them on tight.
