Regulator Rectifier - Black - KZ900 - KZ1000

Equivalent to OEM: 21066-025- 99996-1159- 21061-024. Bolt-on replacement for the stock regulator & rectifier. Solves the problem of overcharging batteries. Simple to install - NO CUTTING OR SPLICING OF WIRES.

NOTE: THIS UNIT REPLACES BOTH THE REGULATOR AND RECTIFIER WITH ONE COMPONENT.

Fits Kawasaki KZ1000 (77-78)- KZ900 (76-77).

You will need slightly longer mounting bolts as the new unit is a little deeper. We've found that a 6x25mm bolt should do the trick. (See recommended items)
Remove the existing regulator & rectifier taking care with the bullet connectors.
Bolt this new unit in the place of the old regulator (under the battery box).
Plug the green connector into the electrical panel.
Connect the ground wire to the engine ground point (behind the Kickstarter).
Connect the single wire bullet connector on the new unit into the harness white wire double female connector and you are done...

These units adjust the voltage to the battery based on the health of the battery. Once the battery voltage is full, these newer generation units scale back the voltage to give just a trickle charge to keep the battery topped up.
