"First off I would like to thank you for your customer service. I came across the Dime City crew in my search for parts for my recent project bike, a 79 Honda CBX 1000.

I grew up around this bike as it was my fathers as long as I can remember. In the later part of his life the bike didn't get used much and was in rough shape. Me being a teenager with the desire for speed, he kept me off of it.

Five years ago he was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He fought it for a year from his diagnosis but passed away in 2012. Prior to passing he gave the bike to me. I immediately began working to get it in running condition again, which I did so prior to his finals days. He was happy to see the old girl back on the road but he made sure to remind me to take it easy.

It was always my desire to completely overhaul the bike some day, which is what recently brought me your way. I began mid winter here in America's Dairyland on my goal. The frame was chopped and a rear hoop was installed. A seat pan was then placed atop the newly fabricated frame. A custom battery box was built and frame tab for the break cylinder was centered in the triangle.

Stock headers were accented with shorty chrome mufflers/tips. A custom light bracket was relocated to allow for a 7" bucket and LED headlight. The frame, wheels and various other parts were sandblasted and powder coated. The bike was completely rewired to allow for all electrical components minus blinker switches to be hidden under the tank. The carbs were rebuilt, cleaned and rejetted. Everything was accented with new lighting, Coker tires, 7/8 bars and updated hand controls.

Project CBX has brought things full circle as I got my desire to wrench on things from my dad. He taught me a lot of what I know regarding mechanics of equipment and how to get your hands dirty.

This bike will always be special to me. Thanks again for your service and the quality parts."
