AHRMA at New Jersey Motorsports Park - July 14th - 16th, 2017

AHRMA racing at New Jersey Motorsports Park this past weekend quickly took on the moniker: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

The Good

The addition of Dime City Cycles' own Herm Narciso to AHRMA racing! After successfully completing his race class on Friday, Herm showed the DCC Crew he was there to bring it!

The Bad

Scott Turner hitting a patch of oil on the track during practice Friday and putting the bike down. Unfortunately, an injury to his left foot put him on the sidelines as a spectator for the weekend.

The Ugly

Wicked storms brought torrential rain and strong winds both Thursday and Friday nights, leaving a heap of carnage that was once five canopies!

As the film says... "Alright, friends, come along and enjoy the spectacle."

The Results

Saturday brought better weather and a very competitive field in the Lightweight Production Class. 16 bikes in all. Even with the track still holding a little water from the storms, Jim Korn finished 5th, Scot Fiedler 6th, Herm 8th, and Rian Mondriaan rounded out the group with a 12th.

Sunday's Lightweight Production Class results were DCC sequential: Herm 5th, Scot 6th, Jim 7th, and Rian 8th. Herm's bike was built with Mikuni VM carburetors, which aren’t legal for the class he raced in, so he DQ'd himself, but that was only in print, in reality he went out like a rookie and finished like a boss!!

Heavyweight Production resulted in a commendable 6th place finish for Rian on Sunday.

George Hernandez finished 4th in the Vintage Superbike Middleweight Class on Saturday, but come Sunday he and his mighty KZ grabbed his second podium finish - proudly finishing 3rd. Congratulations George!

Look for the crew to be heading out to Talladega, Alabama in September!

It was great catching up and thanks for listening. Congrats on the 500 wins Scott T, quite an accomplishment. Good luck in New Jersey, I know you all will show them how it's done. Who knows maybe I'll show up from DC.
